Shannon S. Shellenhamer, MPAS, PA-C

Shannon S. Shellenhamer, MPAS, PA-C, graduated from James Madison University in 2007 with a BS in Health Science, minor in Biology, and again from JMU in 2012 with her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies.  She practiced Family Medicine in Jacksonville, Florida for 3 years before returning home to Richmond where she worked for 7 years in Urgent Care.  After the COVID pandemic Shannon noticed a greater need for preventative medicine and primary care and was thrilled to join Ashland Medical Center to serve those in her community.

Shannon and her husband live in Ashland with their twins who are full of energy. They also have a chocolate labradoodle.  In her free time, Shannon enjoys yoga, walking, running, traveling, and the occasional hike.  When Shannon and her husband met through their church group they loved running Spartan Races together which has stopped since having twins but they look forward to starting back up with races and other activities with their very active children.

Shannon joined Ashland Medical Center in 2023.
